Flamenco is a very complex artform. In addition to providing a visual interpretation of music and rhythm, flamenco dancer also participates as a musician using hands and feet as musical instruments.

If you're starting to explore flamenco, expect to spend some time learning the basics. Learning Flamenco is like learning any foreign language - you start out by learning your letters, then basic words, phrases, then simple sentences. Beginners should expect to learn basic flamenco vocabulary, names of simple steps and how to properly execute them flamenco-style. Students who continue to study Flamenco will learn basics of Flamenco structure, principles of improvisation within a lose structure and collaborating with Flamenco musicians and singers. Simple choreographies will be learned to demonstrate those principles and structure in action using basic steps.
