We will have the honor of welcoming Adrián Galia for his first time in Canada July 2009 at the Flamenco Dance Studio of London, SouthWestern Ontario.

Your registration fees include:
* One week (7 days) of classes – 2 hours class per day (14 hours total).
* One additional hour per day of group practica with the students only. Schedule to be announced.
* Access to a dance studio for your own practica at a discounted rate ($10 per hour for one dancer or $5 per hour and dancer, for two or more dancers).
* Cocktail party.
* DVD summary of the workshop.
Workshop classes content:
Pilates technique indicated for Spanish Classical Dance & Flamenco. (30 min.)
Flamenco dance technique (footwork, arms and turns). (45 min.)
Choreography on Solea por Bulerias. (45 min.)
Level of participants:
All levels from intermediates to advanced dancers. There will be something for everyone at this workshop. High beginners and beginners with less than 12 months experience are welcome to challenge themselves! New beginners in flamenco dance, please contact Cinta Sebastia for new beginners programs. The classes are for both male and female dancers.

ADRIAN GALIA Dancer/Choreographer
Adrián Galia is recognized as one of the most talented dancers of our times worldwide, a prestigious dance teacher and a fine choreographer. Son of renowned flamenco masters (Olga Maria Marcioni "La China" and Jorge Luis Caviglia), he was born in 1965 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). His early training began at the National Ballet of Spain under the direction of "the great Antonio". Adrián has been Principal Dancer in prestigious companies like the "Ballet Español" (Madrid, 1982) -along with José Antonio, Merche Esmeralda, Güito, José Mercé and Emilio de Diego-, the "Teatro de Danza Española de Luisillo" and the "Ballet Teatro Español" of Rafael Aguilar. In 1991, he performed in the Star's Gala of Madrid sharing the stage with Peter Schaufuss, Sylvie Guillem and Maya Plisetskaya. In 1992, he danced in the "Géants de la Danse" Gala at the Theatre des Champs Elysées in Paris with Patrick Dupont and Julio Bocca. Also in 1992, he was awarded the First Prize as a choreographer and dancer in the 1st International Spanish Classical Dance & Flamenco Choreography Contest held in Madrid. Adrián has been the only flamenco dancer invited (after the great Antonio) to perform at 1st Gala of the Dance held in Moscow, sharing the stage with Maya Plisetskaya, Vladimir Vasiliev and Makarova. He has been a Principal Dancer and Choreographer of the Cristina Hoyos Company in the production of "Caminos Andaluces" (1993).
In 1996 Adrián presented his own company , Adrián Galia´s Flamencos Company, at the festival "Madrid en Danza", producing the acclaimed "En Clave Flamenca" (1996) and "Pensando Flamenco" (1999). In 1997, he danced in the presentation "OMEGA", in collaboration with Enrique Morente and the rock group Lagartija Nick. Adrián is the author of a 21-video flamenco encyclopedia, one of the finest didactic compilations for professionals and dance students, "Paso a Paso los Palos del Flamenco", produced jointly with the Japanese flamenco magazine "Paseo", and published in Spain by Salvat Editorial as "Sentir Flamenco". Adrián has opened a choreographic center in Japan, where he lived for 5 years (1999-2004). Since 2004, Adrián is the Principal Dancer of the Antonio Gades Company intensively touring Spain and the world with the productions once created by Antonio Gades: Carmen, Suite Flamenca, Bodas de Sangre and Fuenteovejuna.

Q: Does the registration fee cover the cost of the hotel or rooms @ the UWO B&B?
Q: Can I register and pay at the door?
A: We suggest that you register in advance so we can be sure to have a syllabus and a spot for you, even if it’s within one week of the workshop. Space is limited. If you cannot register in advance, we will do our best to accommodate you.
Q: What if I need to cancel?
A: The registration is not refundable, transferable to other dancers or exchangeable with regular FDSL programs. We understand that things come up unexpectedly. Our policy is to hold your registration credit toward the following International Flamenco Workshop. It will expire in one year.
Q: Can I get a receipt for reimbursement purposes?

Q: Is there a one-day rate?
A: No, attendee registration is only sold for the full 7-day event.
Q: Can I audio/video record the workshop?
A: No, photographic or video cameras are not allowed in the workshop, other than the photographers and videographers indicated by the FDSL. You may audio tape the classes if you ask for pre approval of your audio recorder by the FDSL. Group pictures with the guest artists and your peers will be done at the end of the workshop, the last day.
Q: What to wear?
A: Flamenco shoes are mandatory. Need new shoes? Call us to help you find the right model or brand for you in the London or Toronto area, call 519 673 5671. We suggest to our students to wear black dance leotard, black flamenco skirt for ladies, stretch black yoga pants for ladies under the skirt, sweat pants for men. The studios have air conditioning in summer. Please avoid strong perfumes and heavy jewelry.
